On the loom, a thread attached to a spool is woven into the warp by the skilful hands of the craftspeople, who, with rhythmic movements and a mix of threads, gradually give shape to the textures they create. Captone designs emerge from the repetition of gestures, yet never in a rigid manner; there is always something organic, spontaneous, vibrant and authentic, creating a look reminiscent of the leatherwork used on sofas and armchairs, which bears the same name. It is this balance between technique and creativity that brings by Kamy’s loom-woven rugs to life – 100% Brazilian, handcrafted products, produced in our workshops in the interior of Minas Gerais. Each Captone loom-woven piece is made to order, using a blend of chenille, fine soft yarn and jute, resulting in a unique and sophisticated rug that bears the mark of both the weaver and the person who chooses it.
